External EcoCooler – Small

This evaporative cooler is designed to be externally mounted and should be used as part of a mechanical ventilation system with a paired extract fan.

With a maximum flow rate of 14,000m3/hr evaporative coolers contain an inbuilt fan and evaporative cooling pads. The standard configuration is down flow, where air is supplied from the base of the cooler into the area that requires cooling.

Compared to a traditional refrigeration system the estimated energy savings are expected to be around 90%. A single EcoCooler, rated at 35kW, can show carbon savings of up to 10,000kg per year and cost less than 15p per hour to run.

Modes of operation

Ventilation Mode

The water circulation system is not in operation in ventilation mode. External ambient air is brought into the building by the coolers supply fan.

Cooling Mode

In cooling mode, the water circulation system is in operation and the cooling pads are wetted. The evaporation of water from the pads results in a reduction in air temperature.
